SONBC Winners

Two fledgling South Oxfordshire businesses are celebrating “a tremendous boost” after winning a prestigious competition.

Red Kite Recycling at Stadhampton and AD Health & Safety of Wallingford have been named as winners in the Southern Oxfordshire New Business Competition.

Both win the top prize of a free furnished office for a year at Monument Park, Chalgrove, owned and run by competition organisers Jennings. The prize is worth around £10,000 to each of the winners. They will also receive a business mentoring package through TBAC, discounted meeting room use, and vouchers for the Late Breakfast business networking group.

The brain-child of former marketing executive, Jolyon Roe, Red Kite Recycling provides a commercial waste and recycling service to the glazing industry through a network of partners across the country.

Run by Anna Dolan and Matt Stone, AD Health & Safety offers a comprehensive package of event safety and operations management services, with high profile customers ranging from A1 GP to the Wychwood Music Festival.

Jolyon Roe at Red Kite Recycling says: “This award is a tremendous boost to my business and will provide the platform for growth within this exciting and rapidly developing market.”

AD Health & Safety’s Matt Stone says: “We are thrilled and delighted to have won this competition which will raise our status and help us to achieve our next business objectives.”

Jennings Director, Paul Mabbutt, says: “Monument Park is already home to 80 companies employing more than 500 people between them; many of these are fledgling businesses or companies that started small and grew with us. We are delighted to welcome Red Kite Recycling and AD Health & Safety to join the strong business community we have at Chalgrove.” TBAC Director and competition judge, Roger Mumby-Croft, says: “We had a really impressive ten-strong field of businesses to choose from; we saw a lot of talent, great ideas and businesses with really exciting potential to grow. That’s massively encouraging in what we know are challenging times.”

The Southern Oxfordshire New Business Competition is a joint venture between Jennings, Business Link, Barclays, OxLink, TBAC, The Oxfordshire Town Chambers Network, and South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils. The furnished office prize for the winners is free for 12 months and has an equivalent value of £10,000, including up to 3 workstations and broadband.
